OUCH - I have done something bad to my arm...

I was wrestling around with my kids yesterday, and to make a long story short it appears that I have partially "blown" a tendon that runs the length of my forearm from my wrist to my elbow (on the underneath side). It has swollen up, I can't rotate my wrist hardly at all, and I can't bend my wrist back. Also, my arm is swollen and is now black and blue, like I bruised the whole thing. I went to the emergency room because I initially thought I had broken it, but they said that I messed up the tendon. So, I am off to the orthopedist on Monday.

Typing hurts as well, so I probably won't be on here much till I figure out what is going on.

More updates later...

1 - BTW, this is my bone doctor:

He's awesome. If you ask in person, I can tell you some funny stories about some of our conversations - but they're not appropriate for public consumption

2 - Nah, they have entire wings named after me at my ortho

Turns out it is a torn muscle in my arm. But he is concerned about my coagulation ability, so I have to go for blood tests. It looks really nasty.

3 - Rock, do you use an ergo keyboard? They make a HUGE difference on this. Seriously, I've had an MS keyboard for 10+ years, and I can feel the difference between it and a normal keyboard after only 3 minutes of typing.

4 - Damn, Dawg -- do you have the orthopedist on speed dial on your cell phone by now?

Man. You need to drink more milk or something.

5 - Hope everything works out, Rock!

6 - Sounds like someone has forgotten that they are a young pup any more. The fact that you didn't have to get a name of a good orthopedist tells me that this is not your first tumble down the age impaired lane. When I take on the kids, I make sure I always get my licks in quick and get out before they all turn on me and hurt me real good.

7 - Ouch!

8 - Is there anyone in your family that has not broken a bone or tendon in the past year? You guys must play real rough

Hope it does get better soon. It cannot be fun. Besides who is going to hold the Karaoke mike for you?

I have been watching my oldest daughter deal with her first cast (for a broken foot from soccer). The orthopedist totally misread the x-rays as a sprain so she limped around for two weeks like that. Bone-headed doctor (so to speak).

9 - YOUCH! Just thinking about this makes me dizzy... I guess that's why I went into computers and not medicine!

Hopefully it's not too serious! Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!
