My little Mouse is sick...

Yesterday my youngest daughter Robin - whom we affectionaltely call "Mouse" - came home sick. She had a bit of a cough, and a little fever (99 degress). I gave her some medicine, had her rest, and she seemed ok - weak but ok.
The other kids got home from school, and we got ready to go Trick-or-Treating. Mouse got her costume on, but before we went out she came to me and said "Daddy I don't feel so good" and then blacked out - clammy skin, etc. I thought she was weak from the cold. I had her lay down for a few minutes, then she said she felt better. I drove her to about five houses, and brought her back home to rest.
Well, she blacked out a couple more times, and Debbie and I decided she needed to go to the hospital. Debbie took her while I took care of the rest of the kids. It turns out Mouse has "atypical pneumonia". I have no idea what "atypical" means in medical terms (I know what acute means, but not atypical). When she got there she had the same symptoms she had when she came home from school. While she was there, however, she spiked a 101 temp and passed out again - but this time it was determined she passed out because her pulse-ox dropped to 85 percent. They admitted her.
So, Mouse is in the hospital. I'll give you updates as things move along, but in the meantime I am not sure how much I'll be on here. I will be working and on the computer some, but my spare time will be a bit tied up until she's home.
I think it is harder for me when she's sick because she is so small and quiet. She turns 8 next month, and still weighs less than 50 pounds. She's healthy as a horse (normally), she's just small. My mom is 4'10", and I am a towering 5'5", so she gets her diminutive stature naturally. But at times like this, when she's sick, it really drives home how small and precious she is.
I'll be back later.
UPDATE: Mouse is on her way home from the hospital this afternoon. They have her on a ton of drugs, but she is coming home. YAY!! I want to thank everyone on behalf of my family for all of your well-wishes. Your kind thoughts and words are an amazing comfort and foundation during trying times. I love you folks. **Rock
