The World Community Grid has announced a few new enhancements to the project, including the major announcement that the project now supports Linux users. From the site:

As of November 1, 2005, World Community Grid now supports Linux computers. In order to do this, a second grid computing platform, called Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC), was implemented that runs alongside the United Devices software, which is used for Windows support. At this writing, Linux users are contributing more than two years of run-time per day.

So, if you're a Linux user and you've been avoiding the WCG project because it doesn't support Linux, you have no more excuses - start contributing now!
