I downloaded Ubuntu today as I wanted to install it and play with Hannover and Domino.next on it (no, neither one is supported on Ubuntu, but I like the Debian builds of Linux much better, so I'll give it a try). As with most Linux distros you download an ISO image and then burn that to CD to create your installation CD. Well, WindowsXP does not support burning ISO images to CD out of the box - you can burn a bunch of other standard things, but not ISO images. So, I was on a hunt - I needed a tool that would simply let me burn the ISO image to a CD - no muss, no fuss. Preferably I wanted a right-click menu choice that allowed me to burn it to CD easily. I don't want some overblown, thick CD burning client - I just want to burn an ISO. Well, I found what I was looking for - enter ISO Recorder by Alex Feinman.

Alex has written a simple little "Windows Power Toy" that provides me exactly what I wanted - it provides right-click access to simply and cleanly burn an ISO image to CD, as shown in the image below:

Oh, and this isn't a one-trick pony. ISO Recorder also has the ability to rip CDs to ISO images and erase CD-RWs within windows. That's handy.

The rest of the interface is simple and easy to use, and when I used it today it worked as advertised.

ISO Recorder is available for Windows XP (up through SP2), XP 64bit, 2003, Vista, and even a command-line tool.

Oh, and the best part? This nice little tool is FREE.

1 - very nice tool thanks for that
About linux, did you run it successfully [ i mean installing domino.next] or did you give a try to OpenSuSE or even SLES10 which are [or close to be] supported platform ? I ask that because i'm a linux user [both at home and at work, even if I have to keep a win32 image] and I'm still interested to learn experience from others

2 - Thanks for that Rock. I've been using Alcohol 120% for a while but this looks much more simple, and free
