Lotus Geek :: Where in the world is Rock?

Well, the speaking season is kicking off again for your friendly neighborhood Lotus Geek. I have confirmed a couple of speaking engagements already - and I know some more are in the pipe (for instance, I am pretty sure I'll be speaking for Advisor again, I just have to finish lining up the details, etc.). Right now I can confirm two events that are coming up that I will be at - and the first one is next week!

Next week I am very excited to be speaking at the EntwicklerCamp 2007 event in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. This is the event put on by Rudi Knegt and Bundled Know-How. It started modestly enough a couple of years ago, and is actually growing and expanding quite nicely. I am going to be presenting a couple of sessions that I gave at Lotusphere 2007 - Notes access for SAP solutions: Under the Hood, and Creating Maintainable IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Applications - Writing Readable Code. I am really looking forward to this trip - not only because I love going to Germany (this is my 5th or 6th trip there), but also because this time my eldest daughter Kris (she's 15, almost 16 - and pictured above) is accompanying me. She hasn't been to Europe with me in a long time, and I am really excited and fortunate to be able to take her along with me on this trip.

The other event to which I have committed is the Irish Lotus Users Group (ILUG) Conference in Dublin, Ireland. This event has quickly turned into a really exciting conference, attracting some exceptional talent - including many of my coworkers from IBM. Right now the event is still free - but I think Wild Bill and Paul should look at really expanding the event and begin charging for it - which would allow them to add a great deal more to it, I believe. I hope to take a daughter or two along with me to this event as well - we'll see!

1 - Exciting news (especially since I'll be on the same flight with you going to the same place). I look forward to meeting Kris and spending some time with you two. It already promised to be an excellent conference, but now it is even better.
