Does anyone see a problem with the post last Friday by Bob Balaban?

I am getting a couple of reports that the post by Bob from Friday is causing IE7 to hang up when viewing the full post with comments. I have tested it on Firefox and IE6.x, and it works fine there - so it is an IE7-specific problem. I was wondering if someone could take a look at this who has IE7 and see if you can figure out what's going on? When I look at the post it seems fine. Does anyone else see anything wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Comments

1 - All good! ;)

2 - OK now (on 3 different machines)

3 - Working for me as well now...

4 - Same problem here, it happens on any comments link. It's been there for a while, the first time i noticed it happened to be on Bob's first guest-blog... After closing IE7 from the taskmanager and reloading the page the problem did not occur, so i emptied the cache (content.ie5) tried again and yup, there it was again.

5 - It also loads like this sometimes { Link } . In regular IE7 the screen would go white before I could get a printscreen so I used IETab instead.

6 - Just to confirm that everything is fine now in both my feed reader and IE7 with this post and Friday's post.

7 - Bob's a troublemaker...

8 - OK, I turned off CoComment support for now. Also, the "missing argument list" problem seems to show up for THIS post, but I don't see it (at least on FF) on the post from Bob last Friday.

Can someone see if disabling CoComment fixed the problem with Bob's post from Friday? I don't know what to do about the other error.

9 - I was getting this problem in work (IE6) .. it almost loaded the page but failed. And I've just tried to load the article with comments on IE7 - same problem.

Viewing in FF2.0 is fine - although Firebug is reporting "missing ) after arguement list" - line 35. I can't obviously see whether its related..

10 - For me Rock - your sites been busted in my ie6 and ie7 browsers for a while. A few others (and all use coComment) have been busted a while as well (on my setup).

11 - Hi Rock, The coComment integration in your site uses old syntax that has been deprecated. I don't know whether you added the coComment integration yourself or whether it comes with Blogsphere but I'd suggest updating the code to use the new syntax. That might fix this problem.

The new syntax is here: { Link }

12 - Everything looks just fine here through IE7. Using IE7 on XP Pro with no toolbars or anything installed. I looked at the full Balaban post without issue.

Take Care,
Grey

13 - I been seeing the same thing as Steve, using IE6 on XP.
Often the page load, but the right menu cover part of the content and the script that is supposed to move it and re-format the page is crashing, and I have to kill IE... Been going on for a few weeks.

14 - OK, the missing argument list problem is fixed. Turns out the apostrophe was causing the issue - but it is fixed now.

Does the problem still exist though with the post from last Friday?

15 - I had some problems with previous posts, not the recent Bob B. post though, where loading the blog would cause my FeedDemon (using the IE 7 control for HTML display) to crash. I haven't had problems for two weeks or so.

16 - Just to let you know the new version of blogsphere uses the new integration methods. I haven't heard if anybody has had any problems with it or not.

17 - Bob's post with comments works for me now.

18 - That's so weird. I haven't changed anything in my blog design in a LONG time. I don't know what to do.

I am planning on upgrading my blog to the latest Blogsphere version. I may do that over the weekend and see if it fixes some of my issues. I know that the Blogsphere team has put a ton of effort into the new release, and that much of the underpinning is brand new - so I may give that a shot and see if it fixes my issues.

Thanks everyone.

19 - Have a look at Steve's blog (link below) where he mentions a possible cause. As I said there, any of your blog posts with comments crash my feed reader and IE7 but not FF.

{ Link }

I don't know whether or not it is linked with your coComment integration but that was Steve's suggestion?

HTH, Rob.

20 - Anytime I click a comment link on your site using IE7 I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the status bar and it hangs. I did finally get it to show me the following:

Line: 34
Char: 43
Error: Expected ')'
Code: 0
