When the Best Practices track was first introduced at Lotusphere 2002, I had my own company called Sapphire Oak Technologies. When the track was created I offered to help Kristin (Keene, the Content Manager for Lotusphere) and the Lotusphere content team put the track together, to be a "community representative" in the creation of the track. From that I became a "Best Practices Track Consultant" for a few years, until 2005, when I (re)joined Lotus/IBM. When that happened I was made the Best Practices Track Manager, and that worked great; but I just left IBM in January of this year, so now I'm back on the outside, and I can't be a full-bore Track Manager, because I'm not in IBM anymore.

What to do, What to do....

Well, Kristin came up with a GREAT idea for this year. I will be moving back to the "Best Practices Track Consultant" role, and the new Best Practices Track Manager will be...

(drumroll please)

MAC GUIDERA!

As you know Mac is a great contributor to the Lotus community, and he's "one of us". He was a BP for many years, and he has contributed a great deal of kewl stuff in that time. He joined IBM/Lotus a year or two ago (he can say exactly when), and so he is the perfect Track Manager for the Best Practices track. He will bring a fresh eye and a different perspective to the BP track, and I think he and I will make a great team to deliver you the greatest Best Practices track ever.

I'll let Mac say more, but I want to once again say that I am extremely excited to be working with Mac on the BP track.

Extremely excited.
