You may or may not know this, but a bright star in our community, Libby Ingrassia (aka Notes Girl) lives in Houston, TX. As you know hurricane Ike (now a tropical depression) slammed into Houston and did a great deal of damage - but the greatest damages of all are the 13 deaths contributed to Ike in the US, according to the latest numbers.

Knowing how brutal Ike was to the Houston area, I wanted to make sure Libby is OK. I gave her a call on her cell, and she said that she and her loved ones are fine. Their house is also fine, and she said they were "one of the lucky ones" who didn't suffer terribly at the hands if Ike. They are still without power, and have no idea when it will be restored, but that is a small inconvenience compared to what others in the area are going through - and that has struck Libby hard, she said.

She said she's been able to Twitter with many people to let them know she's OK, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew the same. She said she was perfectly fine with me letting everyone know this, and she wanted to also let everyone know that she appreciates the concern we all had for her and others in the region.

Libby will be back posting soon, but until then she is fine.
