I normally wouldn't comment on phishing emails I get, because I get so many of them. But this one looks really good, and I have gotten about 10 of them today so far (worm-spawned phishing emails maybe?). The email looks like this (shrunk it to reduce size):

Amazon Phishing email

This is an email that is going to fool many people - especially since the link at the bottom looks like the Amazon URL, but is actually a link to http://www.oes.jp/~marina/.%20./amazon.com/amazon/index.html , which appears to be in Japan. This technique, coupled with the nice looking email, is going to catch many folks.

Crafty evil bastards.

If you have non-geek, "normal" friends and relatives (think hard - they're the people who don't understand you when you talk about work) then you might want to warn them about this latest scam, and reiterate how they are to NEVER EVER click a link they receive in an email unless they KNOW where it came from AND they expected it to come to them.

Have a good weekend!

2 - I get a fair share of phishing emails, usually from "PayPal". I can readily identify them but one I thought was especially tricky. Usually when you mouse over the URL, the status bar at the bottom shows the real URL being directed to, ie: "http://www.gotyousuckernyahnyah.com". However, this one said "(javascript: www.paypal.com)". I thought that was rather clever. Didn't suck me in, though.

3 - Question: Does any company really suspend (and/or consequently terminate) user peoples accounts, especially using the method in this email? The phrase "your account has been suspended" is always an immediate signal that something is...well, phishy. rolleyes:

(BTW I especially laugh when I get these messages from banks with which I've had absolutely no relationship!):
