Yeah, I was going to make an announcement, but...

I was told to hold off a bit. So, to basically keep all you rowdy kids busy I am going to make this a game. I am going to give clues - one or more/day - and see if you can guess. Of course I can't confirm or deny until I am told I can announce it, but at least we can see who gets closest.

First clue: It is new for Lotusphere.

Hey, I didn't say I was going to give it away in the first clue ;)

Comments

1 - CULT shirts available for all Lotusphere attendees?

2 - Bob Balabab will do a session entirely in Klingon?

3 - If it was a new product or new platform support then that would be something anounced at Lotusphere rather than "new for Lotusphere" I guess it means some kind of change in the format or venue which is new to the event. You are the head honcho of the best practices track, so it might be in that arena if you will be the one to announce it.
How about webcasts of sessions or DVDs posted out to attendees containing all sessions so you can see the ones you couldn't get to. That would be "new for Lotusphere" and would be pretty cool.

4 - One new thing for the 'Sphere I have seen is the Lotusphere 2006 BootCamp. But since that's on IBM's site it can't be what you're talking about - although it looks to be awesome!

5 - Will you be passing the torch to someone to ask the hard questions in the meet the developers sessions this year?

6 - Alan (1): Nice reasoning. Not going to really confirm or deny anything, except that it doesn't have anything to do with DVDs or anything - I have no idea what is going on in that area.

Rich (2): No, but that is a kewl idea

Bill (3): LOL, there are plenty of others who will readily fill in for me

Chris (4): Glad you notice the Bootcamp stuff! It is very exciting, and I guess in some ways is related to Bootcamp, but not really

Kevin (5): Nah, if everyone had one, it wouldn't be in such demand, now would it?

Bob (6): I feel your pain, but it is definitely not a product announcement of any kind.

Keep those guesses coming!

7 - We finally get Domino Designer for OSX and Domino Server for OSX Server! Woo hoo!

I knew this day would (never) come.

Can I PLEASE get rid of my damn Windows box??? PLEASE. I'm the ONLY ONE OF SIX developers that has a windows machine. They all laugh at me when I have to find one of 15 windows that has the piece of code I am looking for... while they just hit the left side button on their mouse and boom, they've got everything they want.

This rant could go on all day long, but CAN I PLEASE GET RID OF MY WINDOWS BOX???

8 - So what we have so far is:

Chris (4): Glad you notice the Bootcamp stuff! It is very exciting, and I guess in some ways is related to Bootcamp, but not really

Chris was close but not on the money. Next we have our two clues....It's like an Adult Version of Blues Cluses only with Lotus....I can hear the theme music now.......

First clue: It is new for Lotusphere.

Here's the second clue:

Second clue: It is a collaborative effort.

Whatever it is if Rocky is doign this it's going to be good!

My Guess : (and I have never been to Lotusphere so this is a real guess.)

Bootcamp training with cert testing for free to get you up to date on 7.

Not a great guess but the only thing I can come up with.

9 - @ BOB

Now that would be huge. If only that would happen. Or maybe Apple is going to start running on Intel and then you can use CrossOver Office to run Designer on Mac using an intel emul.

I see huge potential in running Domino on xServe. It could easily take over and fill the void for the users who can't afford a big iSeries and are forced to run Widnows Server and hate it. I know Windows has it's place but it's called the desktop....not the server market. Please take Domino off of Windows and place it on MacOSX Server. That would be huge.

Also my rant could go on for days too....as I do not understand how you can keep using Windows when it is a load of poop fille diapers.
